Oh, hello. I’m Caira.
There’s a lot of things I’m interested in, and one of them is providing the Internet with a lighter-hearted perspective on a not-always hilarious subject. Autoimmune diseases, of which I have a few, can become boring to talk about, particularly because most of them last forever. In my opinion, (and this blog has a lot of those), there’s not much out there, digitally speaking, that’s funny, wry or interesting for people dealing with them everyday.
So, that’s what this is – a space to have a sense of humor about the whole thing if (especially when) you need a break from the terror of self-diagnosing via WebMD or surfing health sites with Very Serious Names.
I’ll go ahead and mention that I’m not a doctor, but you already knew that.
Hi Caira, nice to meet you. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease this year at age 30 and 4 months. I look forward to reading about your journey.

I enjoyed your BuzzFeed post. I got Graves in the early 2000s and was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in fall 2016. I know I need to gather my thoughts and write about my experience. Thanks for sharing your story.
